Joomla 6 templates

Upgrade from joomla 5 to 6

First read the official instructions of this upgrade by clicking here (hopefully it will be there).  Then these are my template related instructions if you use our joomla 5 template:

1. Does your server satisfy the joomla 6 technical requirements?
2. Are your joomla extensions compatible with joomla 6? If yes, then:
3. backup
4. save your old template and its user.css file
5. update extensions
6. update to joomla 5.x
7. set cassiopeia default
8. Joomla Update/Options/Update channel: set Joomla next
9. Pre-update check
10. update to joomla 6
11. set error reporting to maximum, and check the site for errors
12. install the new joomla 6 template and set it default, it will overwrite the old template, but keeps the template parameters
13. if you had a user.css, create a child template, upload the user.css into its css folder
14. clear cache everywhere
15. test
16. set error reporting to default
17. backup
